Birthday Surprise

On January 28, I celebrated my birthday.  After Andy insisted that I needed a cup of coffee, this is what I found when I walked into the kitchen...

 

The best birthday gift ever!!!

It begins with a kiss...

And so it began....On June 18th, 2009, Andy and I took our time making our way to the hospital. Stopping first at McDonald's as Andy could get breakfast; we arrived at the hospital at 7:30am and settled in to wait just a little longer to meet our precious baby we had anticipated for the 9 months prior. With some bouts of excitement and a little bit of pain (thank goodness for the epidural!) Sophie arrived at 3:22 pm, precisely at the same time that Andy fell to the floor, causing every nurse, doctor and anesthesiologist on call in the hospital to enter the room welcoming her into the world and Andy back from his short "nap". This picture was taken right after Andy came to and Sophie had finished up her first round of hospital testing, all of which came out perfectly! (Her new dad would also have to undergo 1 hour of testing in the emergency room due to hospital protocol and the possibility of him hitting his head on the floor lamp that had moved from bedside to the far corner of the delivery room at the exact same moment as his fall!) And that is how our family story begins... with a single kiss.

It has been 7 months, and 12 days and Sophie has grown so much! I have decided to use this blog to capture Sophie's stories to share with family and friends living (too) far away. (Mom and Dad, this way you will always see updated pictures of Sophie without waiting patiently by the computer for an email :) Below are some pictures to catch you up to where Sophie is today.
